Brunch With Aria Hughes - Jayrrod 4 Love
Album Review
I recently posted some video teasers of Jayrrod 4 Love speaking about his passion for hip hop and his perspectives on life in general. After listening to this latest project-Brunch With Aria Hughes-which just dropped on January 26th, his views hold true as you can clearly hear his passion in his music. The name of this project enticed me to want to listen as well, being described as his love for an on and off girlfriend Aria, the name with roots going back to music that could mean, “an elaborate melody sung solo with accompaniment,” or as we know it, his love for “hip hop.” The wordplay of the title is genius. The album starts off with smooth samples in a classic hip hop style with a nice lyrical flow. I was impressed from the start. An added bonus to the album were the clips of Denzel Washington and Angela Bassett as Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz and the struggles and ultimate love in their relationship playing back to Jayrrod‘s relationship with “Aria,” along with his conscious rap style. I recommend this album to hip-hop heads everywhere, a variation of different types of tracks will suit almost everyone’s aesthetic tastes. The production was one of the best I’ve heard so far and lyricism and flow matched well but I am interested in seeing growth in skill from Jayrrod. I am sure there is even more passion just waiting to escape.
